Hi! 👋🏽 I am Fr. Emmanuel Ochigbo. I was born and raised in Nigeria. I was ordained a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Idah in Nigeria. Among my many assignments in Nigeria, I was the diocesan chaplain to the Catholic Youth Organization (CYON) and the diocesan music director.
I am currently on mission/studies in the United States. I am a Board-Certified Hospital Chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) USA/Canada. I have a Master’s Degree in Biblical Theology. I also have a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. My Doctoral Thesis Topic is “Once Upon a Time: Utilizing Scenic Preaching, Which Provides Engaging and Memorable Homilies as a Viable Solution to Boring Homilies.”
I love to compose, sing, and teach liturgical songs. I have a musical album (Songs of Victory) with eight songs, now on my YouTube Channel under the name “Fr Emmanuel Ochigbo.” I have also recently released some singles, one of which is Baila Baila, which has gone viral and has inspired a global dance challenge. I love to learn languages and to read/listen to and tell good stories.
This blog is an avenue where I share the texts and videos of my Sunday homilies, music, and other posts. I aim to present the gospel message in an engaging, understandable, relatable, memorable, and inspiring way. May your visit to this page answer your questions and bring divine blessings to you. Amen.
